Afghanistan among world’s five most climate-vulnerable countries

Afghanistan has been identified as one of the five most climate-vulnerable countries in the world, according to recent assessments. This designation highlights the significant challenges the nation faces due to climate change, including extreme weather events, water scarcity, and food insecurity. The report outlines how these environmental issues exacerbate existing socio-economic problems, affecting the livelihoods of millions of Afghans. Experts emphasize the urgent need for international support and sustainable practices to mitigate the impacts of climate change in the region. The situation calls for immediate action to address the vulnerabilities and enhance resilience among communities that are already struggling with the repercussions of a changing climate.
